Kevin B has been with Z Car Garage for a long time and owns a pristine Cherry Red Pearl Z32TT(to be featured soon). Kevin also owns this surprisingly clean Fox-body Mustang GT and wanted it to be as fast as his Z.
He came to us for a complete Vortech supercharger install to wakeup the venerable 5.0L V8. Here are some of the goodies:
The Vortech kit designed for Fox-body Mustangs has been around for years and still has great fit/finish. Here are some before/after shots:
A closer look at the black finished supercharger and plumbing:
We ran a baseline dyno before the blower install and the mighty 302 put down a very healthy 199hp/264tq at the wheels. Not bad for its at-the-time crank rating of 225hp/275tq. With the Vortech this ordinary 5.0 becomes a monster with 328hp/361tq to the wheels! Check out the significant gains especially throughout the entire rev range: well over 300lb of tq is available from 2,500 to 5,500 rpm:
So which is faster Kevin, the ‘Stang or the Z? Tune in next time as we feature Kevin’s pretty 300zx and think twice before you roll that “slow 5.0” sitting next to you at the stoplight 🙂

Ken D is a friend of the shop and machinist instrumental in developing the
ZCG big brake kit. Bone stock, Ken’s 2011 Subaru WRX is blessed with near-STI acceleration and even has the same bulging bodywork. After enjoying the WRX’s power and grip at a few track days Ken got the speed bug and needed more braking capacity. Stoptech to the rescue!
We installed Stoptech’s Big-Brake Kit consisting of ST-40 calipers squeezing 328mm rotors up front:
The larger binders and ventilated rotors will now give Ken the confidence to brake deeper and repeatedly throughout the track day sessions:
What better way to take advantage of the new brakes than a set of sticky Hankook RS3s! Ken also had these tires mounted courtesy of Z racer
Scott S, thanks!
We are happy to report that Ken got to experience fade-free braking performance at a recent track day at
Laguna Seca:

Adam L works at an Infiniti dealership in the Bay Area. He had numerous bolt-on suspension parts installed at the dealership but left the dial-in and fine tuning to ZCG. Little details like tidying up the KW coil-over suspension and replacing some mangled sway bar bushings got the G37 back on the road:
Enjoy the Ride, and thanks for rocking a Z Car Garage banner on your windshield Adam! 🙂

Our last major update on
Alan E’s G35 was in 2009 when he made the jump to forced induction with a full Vortech supercharger install + supporting mods. Alan recently came back to ZCG for more power upgrades since we all know that boost is addictive!
We installed ART pipes to complement the upgraded exhaust system:
A 2.87 pulley generates more boost along with uprated 650cc injectors and an Aeromotive 340LPH fuel pump:
650cc injectors and Aeromotive fuel pump:
The initial build several years ago produced 417hp/320tq at the wheels:
With the current mods and Rob’s tuning, the G now produces 457hp/351tq to the wheels!
Will Alan’s craving for power be satisfied now? Stay tuned to find out!

Jerry owns this sweet Daytona Blue Z33. He did his own Vortech supercharger install and came to Z Car Garage for some final sorting/tuning. We cleaned up some wiring, changed the spark plugs and got the Z running well so Jerry could start Enjoying the Ride with 388hp/353tq to the wheels!
