The response to the R35 GT-R that we just finished for SEMA has been amazing. It sounds like almost everyone likes the appearance and the tasteful modifications that were done. Special thanks go to the owner of the car as well as all of the sites that have linked here to zcarblog.com.

Thank you.

There will be more updates as I get them and expect a few more posts today on some VERY IMPORTANT news in the Nissan/Z Car Garage universe.

I will also try to get out some pictures and updates of the THREE simultaneous RB 240z / Fairlady builds that are taking place at the shop. Things are rockin!

GT-R wheels on ZCG G35 Twin Turbo

Filed under: 350z,370z,Featured Cars and Projects,Performance
by Forbes @ 9:07 pm on November 3, 2008

With the GT-R on the new HREs we decided to try the fitment of the stock R35 wheels on the shop G35.  The wheels look killer on the car but they do not fit up front in stock form.  I needed to put some spacers on the front to clear the factory Brembos and to move it away from the king pin.  As you can see in the suspension picture the curb saver on the tire still contacts after the spacers were added.

I am determined to get this to work because the wheels do look so amazing.  They kind of remind me of a new school Panasport wheel.  I have seen pictures of a 350Z with these wheels on so if anyone has any info on how they made the fitment work please let me know.  All it may need is a tire change and a small spacer to gain the clearance needed.  Please, please forward me pictures or info on this wheel change if you can find any.  Thanks!!  GT-Rs rule.

Z Car Garage Builds GT-R for SEMA

Z Car Garage has begun the transformation of it’s first customer GT-R for a SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) show booth which takes place next week.  Work was started immediately because the car needs to be detailed and on a trailer for the show by Saturday morning.   The car will be under a full assault of modifications over the next 48 hours so the Z Car crew has a couple of sleepless nights ahead of them!

The GT-R will be receiving a full compliment of carbon accents: side skirts, front bumper insert, front splitter, side vents, and the rear lower valence panel.  The TOP SECRET coil over kit that will be used keeps the standard Bilstein struts and the driver adjustable suspension.   Next is the full titanium exhaust system with a stainless steel cat-delete mid-pipe; I will get some more info on the manufacturer and specs.   Also, there is a one off set of HRE wheels that was made specially for this car, I will need to wait for the go ahead to show pics of these because they are supposed to premier at SEMA.  The entire set up is truly a thing of beauty.

There will be more pictures and info as the week comes to a close

Z Car Garage 240z Feature in Sport Compact Car

by Forbes @ 10:28 am on October 9, 2008

Z Car Garage is once again in the spotlight with a beautifully restored 240z.  In the November issue of Sport Compact Car there is an article titled “Zip Code” featuring Kurt Ikerd’s Z.  Throughout the five page spread is a well done write up and some amazing photos taken by the infamous E. John Thawley III.  This issue is worth buying for this article alone.

Within the last week this car is beginning a new phase in it’s life.  The wheels have been changed and the entire drive train has been removed.  Kurt and the entire Z Car Garage crew has huge plans for this car in the near future so stay tuned right here as I will be documenting the entire rebuild.  All I have to say is wow.

Note:  These photos are just a few that I have taken this year, THEY ARE NOT FROM THE ARTICLE.  John Thawley’s are much nicer.  ENJOY

Here are the first set of pictures from the Historics that I promised.  These are mainly from the Z Car Corral on Saturday.  I will be posting more of the paddock, pits, and the race action as I get to editing them.  I hope these will hold you over until then.
