Danny K. owns this slick G35 coupe sitting on one of my favorite wheels, the Volk SF Challenge. He had a Vortech supercharger kit installed by a local performance shop and unfortunately the car wasn’t running right. We discovered a vacuum leak at the injector rail and fixed a few other items.
The G now runs as it should and the dyno reveals a healthy drivetrain. With 398hp/331tq to the wheels we are confident that Danny is happier now:)

Daren S. wanted to make his Infiniti G35 Journey Sedan more exciting to drive on the commute. Better breathing can improve power so we bolted on JWT dual POP chargers and a Stillen exhaust system followed by UPREV tuning.
The POP chargers also add a very throaty intake sound 🙂
The Stillen exhaust system replaces the restrictive OEM parts and makes getting on the throttle a bit more satisfying:
On the dyno, the intake alone made a noticeable improvement in power from 260hp/235tq to 264hp/243tq at the wheels:
UPREV tuning makes efficient use of these breathing mods for a final output of 276hp/246tq! Gotta love that huge gain under both hp/tq curves:
Whoa is just as important as go and there are many options out there for improving braking performance. Instead of a full-blown big-brake kit Daren opted for a Stoptech Sport Kit:
This is a great alternative to OEM parts. When coupled with our favorite 309 pad and Stoptech 600 fluid this kit is perfect for spirited driving whether it be on your favorite mountain road or commute!

Octavio came to ZCG for bolt-ons and tuning. Here are the goodies: Motordyne MREV 2 lower intake plenum, 5/16″ plenum spacer and JWT pop charger
(Left)MREV2 plenum vs stock and (Right) 5/16 spacer :
To complement the improved breathing the stock intake was replaced with a JWT Pop charger:
The bolt-ons alone yielded gains of 7hp and 14tq to the wheels:
What is even more impressive is how Rob’s UPREV tuning takes advantage of the bolt-ons improving the baseline 251hp/227tq to a final 270hp/254tq to the wheels. Overall gains of 19hp/27tq!

ZCarGarage has plenty of upcoming project updates to share with you so keep checking the blog! Here is Rob with a report on a sleek, twin-turbocharged Infiniti G37 coupe:
Matt and Josiah are cousins in a family filled with Nissans and Infinitis. Matt had owned lots of American muscle cars and bought the G37 since it had a great combination of performance yet refined ride and style. The power wasn’t enough though…we have all been there! Matt and Josiah came to ZCG to meet with me and discuss options for increasing the G’s output. We came up with a plan consisting of a GTM Twin Turbo Kit (Stage 2) to make sure we had room to grow should the need arise.
The kit installation was smooth and GTM really makes a high quality package. Note the heat shields that hide the exhaust manifolds and the large front mount intercooler that fits beautifully behind the factory bumper:
With the kit installed, the engine bay appears almost stock with only the polished intake pipes deviating from the tame look . There isn’t much to indicate the magnitude of force-fed power that is now being produced 🙂 On the ZCG dyno the Stage 2 kit turned the rollers to the tune of 428rwhp/369tq!
To keep the newfound power “under the radar” we mounted the Defi link gauge setup in the sunglass holder and out of plain sight:
The G37 is now an entirely different machine with the added power and torque and we know that Matt is enjoying his new Japanese super coupe!

Yes Zcarblog readers, even those larger Nissans get ZCG love! Here is Rob with the story on this FX45:
Thad N and his wife Dana are big Nissan fans. Thad found a really clean FX with all the right stuff for making his commute a pleasureable experience. Living in the Santa Cruz mountains with all of those curvy roads this FX certainly gets put through its paces.
Thad has added GTspec bracing to stiffen up the chassis and intake to let that amazing V8 sing its song going in and out of the twistys.
His FX still had too much body roll in and out of the turns, and was also lacking in the brake department.
Solution 1: Eibach Pro-kit. A slight drop with some added spring rate allowing the FX to feel more solid during cornering.
Solution 2: STOPTECH Big-Brake kt( BBK) kit with matching rotors and 309 pads in the rear. The stock rear calipers were also color matched to the fronts in red.
The new stance and big-brakes peeking out of the stock wheels turn this FX into a sleeper:
This FX is born again. Thad’s impression after the upgrades: “the FX was amazing!!!” After Dana drove she called to tell me that her G35 sedan needed to be upgraded ASAP.
So stay tuned this Nissan family has more upgrades on the way 🙂
