We met Rich G when he called us about the suspension on his 2011 G37 Sport Coupe. After visiting a wheel shop to get new wheels/tires installed he reported the car was bottoming out and felt very unstable. Rich sought out a specialist (sound familiar?), called ZCG and met with Rob to assess the car. We put the G up on the rack and noticed installation of very aggressive H&R lowering springs. The springs and aggressive wheel/tire fitment made the car bottom out and also cause excessive camber wear.
We immediately changed the springs to a set of Eibach progressive rate units which are fantastic for a car that just wants to be slightly lower and enjoyed as a daily driver.
The wheels were wrapped in new Hankook v12 evo S2 tires and SPC F/R control arms help keep the suspension properly aligned. The G still has a nice stance:
Rich’s son is a younger fellow and removed the rear muffler so we put it back on for Rich. If you are going to wear tires like an adult sports car…it might as well sound like one too:) After the G was sorted we heard from Rich a few weeks later and he was super stoked with the way the car rides. He was also happy to report perfect tire wear too.
So here we have another great example of the specialty shop working for you! Enjoy The Ride, Rich!

Brad M is a new customer with a 2009 G37 Sedan that visited ZCG for suspension work. Front tire wear issues resulted from riding around on Eibach sport springs without adjustable front control arms. In back, running aggressive offset Volk SF Challenge wheels with larger tires he was unable to control camber and have the lower ride height desired. We met a few weeks ago and came up with a plan:
We installed KW V3 coil-overs, SPC front control arms and Hotchkis sway bars. Those sweet Volks were wrapped in new Bridgestone S-04 tires, and he got an oil change/filter.

Camber in check, car looks great now with an even ride height:

We noticed Brad was missing the hubcentric rings for mounting the Volks and installed a new set to ensure vibration-free driving. He was very happy and we know he’ll be back!

Jimmy V came to Z Car Garage with his 2012 Infiniti G37 Sedan, aptly named the “GNTLMN Z”. Jimmy and Rob discussed options for the best exhaust system, tuning and suspension. We got him dialed in with a Fast Intentions cat-back exhaust system using 18″ resonators and 2.5″ piping, Motordyne ART pipes, and Hotchkis sway bars:

ART Pipes:
Jimmy wanted to see dyno results before/after with no tuning at this time. With Stillen Gen3 intakes already installed we baselined at 301hp/250tq and 315hp/256tq to the wheels with the new exhaust components:
You can watch a video of the dyno run (and see more pictures) of Jimmy’s G on his Instagram account linked below:

Here are the Hotchkis bars installed, front stock(Left):

We also installed a new battery in his key fob and GNTLMN Z was off to Enjoy The Ride. Thanks for coming to ZCG Jimmy, and we like how your G has progressed!

Three for Thursday! Here are 3 owners that visited Z Car Garage for upgrades so they could Enjoy The Ride. Thomas C was experiencing brake fade/overheating with the Akebono caliper setup on his G37 Sedan. We installed a Stoptech Sport Kit with our favorite SS309 pads:
Slotted rotors also help shed heat, before/after shown below:
We also UPREV tuned the G now making 291hp/247tq to the wheels:
Rich M wanted firmer shifts from his automatic-equipped G37 Coupe. We installed a TransGo shift kit followed by UPREV tuning:
TransGO kit:
The dyno plot reveals the benefits of UPREV tuning and the TransGo kit. Firmer shifts are evident by the absence of the “loop” (blue curves) seen with OEM automatic-equipped Z/Gs. Huge peak gains of 20hp/18tq to the wheels and increased area under the curve everywhere means this is power you can feel!
Garth J brought his 2003 350z to us for Stoptech lines, 5/16″ plenum spacer and MREV2 lower intake, and new Bridgestone PP S-04 tires:
With the intake mods and UPREV tuning Garth’s Z picked up 7hp/5tq to the wheels. More importantly are the mid-range and top-end gains:
How can we help you enjoy your Z or G?

Stillen supercharger month continues at Z Car Garage! Our last reports included Daly’s G37 sedan,
David G’s G37 S coupe and today we bring you 2009 David S’ G37 Convertible. The trifecta of supercharged Infiniti G-cars is complete!

From NA to boost!
Out of the box with the Stillen-supplied CAN tune the ‘vert made 408hp/325tq to the wheels. This is a great improvement of 122hp/75tq over stock but at Z Car Garage we can do better!
Rob’s tuning yielded +12hp peak with smoother delivery all the way to 7500rpm:
With 420whp we also thought it would be prudent to start David off with some fresh tires 🙂
This concludes our Stillen supercharger month at the shop…can we help you boost your Nissan/Infiniti?
