At Z Car Garage we love to help enthusiasts by installing customer-supplied parts. Eric R purchased these hot rod goodies online and came to us for installation on his 2014 370z:
Stillen Gen 3 Intakes are a proven way to increase mid to high-range power on the VQ37HR:
Install showing filter location:
The 370Z has been discovered to suffer from high oil temps when exposed to extended periods of spirited driving. Once oil temps reach a specific temperature, the vehicle’s ECU will put itself into a “Limp Mode” cutting the power to the engine. The solution? An engine oil cooler, this one is a great unit from Z1 Motorsports:
Stainless steel braided brakes lines can also help with pedal feel compared to the stock, rubber lines:
The perfect balance to improved intakes is to upgrade the exhaust side. Eric chose the TDX cat-back system from Fast Intentions. Aside from the power gains this carbon fiber muffler option also saves weight:
And yes i does look great too!
UPREV tuning maximizes power gains from these bolt-ons. The Stillen intakes and FI exhaust pushed power past the 300whp mark to 307hp/258tq at the wheels:
With UPREV tuning we extracted 10hp more to the wheels for total of 317hp/258tq, noticeable improvements in mid to high range hp and torque:
How can we help you add power and performance through bolt-ons on your Z or G?

Matt found Z Car Garage by referral from a local car wash. He had installed a few bolt-ons and needed a tune so we UPREV’d his 370z. Baseline numbers were 294hp/238tq and after tuning 309hp/253tq:
The dyno shows significant gains in hp and tq throughout the entire rev range. We are big fans of UPREV tuning and it consistently works well when optimizing individual mods. We will have more examples this week on both NA and FI cars so stay tuned!

Alex T is the owner of this pretty Black Cherry Z34 and he visited Z Car Garage on referral from our boost junkie friend and customer
Juan F. To satisfy Alex’s desire for forced induction we installed a Stillen supercharger kit that was actually used on
Grant K’s Nismo 370z.
Out of the box, this older Stillen kit left plenty of room for improvement so we invested in several upgrades like 1000cc injectors, Aeromotive high-flow fuel pump, pulley and these engine oil/automatic transmission coolers:
The transmission received a GTM valve-body upgrade and stock bypass valve was replaced with a blow-off valve:
Fast Intentions test pipes replace factory cats:
To put the power down more effectively we installed a Quaife limited-slip differential, using the stock 3.36 R&P:
With all of the modifications and UPREV tuning Rob extracted 435hp/343tq to the wheels. This is a 147hp/104tq gain over stock:
To monitor vitals Alex chose PLX Device’s OBD2 multi-gauge. We first installed this trick, wireless sensor/gauge package on Steve’s G35 with an iPhone interface. For Alex’s Z34 the multi-gauge was seamlessly integrated into the OEM pod:
We love the brilliant display and wealth of data that can be accessed:
Enjoy the Ride Alex!

Mike U visted Z Car Garage back in May for Stillen intakes on his Nismo 370z. The Z was a gift to himself and with just 2800 miles on the odometer he got the modification bug. In addition to the intakes we installed a Fast Intentions exhaust system and Eibach springs:
Exhaust before/after:
A few more shots of the system:
The Fast Intentions system looks great and also frees up some power!
We saw a 7hp peak gain at the wheels over baseline:
With Rob’s UPREV tuning Mike’s Z34 now makes 315hp/256tq:
Eibach springs improve the stance and SPC camber arms keeping the alignment in check:
We dig the slight ride height reduction:
Enjoy The Ride, Mike!
