Hi Everyone!
I’m selling my 2005 G35 Sedan! It has the 3.5L Rev Up motor, a LSD differential (RWD), and a 6-speed manual transmission, making this car a rarer find these days! The car has 124,xxx miles on it and maintenance has been done regularly. Major maintenance was performed by Z-Car Garage in San Jose, CA. I highly recommend them, as they’ve been an invaluable resource for me and the health of my car. See below for major services performed.
It has factory tint, an aftermarket clear bra on the hood, front bumper, rear bumper, headlights, and the back of both side mirrors. The leather is in good condition, no rips or tears, just some mild surface cracking from age. Since purchasing the car, I’ve conditioned the leather at least biannually and the car has been garaged for most of the time I’ve owned it.
The paint is in great condition, with no oxidation or clear coat failure. The paint has had mild paint correction done about a year ago with an orbital polisher, and at this time the car was clay barred and a ceramic coating was applied with the ceramic product OptiCoat.
Service History Under my Ownership:
98,xxx miles
-clutch and flywheel replaced
-clutch system bled and serviced with new fluids
-T/C bushings and LCA bushings replaced
-Diff bushing replaced and diff fluid changed
-Cooling system bled and new coolant added
-New radiator cap
96,xxx miles
-power steering fluid bled and changed
-transmission fluid bled and changed
Spark plugs were done somewhere between 75K-90K miles at home.
Oil changed every $3,500 miles. My mechanic at Z-Car Garage recommended exclusively using 10W-30 Valvoline Conventional oil, as otherwise this car uses oil really quickly. I’ve experimented with various synthetics of higher weight, and the car just doesn’t seem to do as well with it. The car doesn’t leak oil, but seems to use oil. I tend to check the oil levels every 600-700 miles and find that I have to add between ¼-½ quart at that interval. Other than checking the oil, she has been a really easy car.
Drive belt was replaced around the same time as spark plugs.
The tires are Bridgestone Potenza RE760 sport and they are mounted on the 18 inch stock G35 sport wheels, and these were mounted 7/2017 and still have a great deal of tread. Tires have been rotated every 5,000 miles or so, and alignment has been done around the same time interval to extend life of tires and suspension components.
New Mass Airflow Sensor installed by Peninsula Infiniti 9/2017.
All 4 wheel rotors and brake pads were replaced in January 2020. Brakes were bled in February 2020.
New windshield wipers installed Feb. 2021.
The car is paid off and I have the pink slip in hand ready to go! Registration and smog was just done in February 2021. I have all service records under my ownership and can give those to you with the car for your records.
Mods
-I installed a Stillen air intake roughly 6-8 months ago, which is also improved horsepower – Yay! I will include the OEM air intake in a box for you as well
-I have a new in-box Stillen full catback exhaust that isn’t on the car, and I can sell that to you separately if interested (not included with car sale)
-Car has been tuned by Z-Car Garage (more horsepower Yay!) and has a built in killswitch for anti-theft that can be programmed from the steering wheel.
-A Grom (brand) bluetooth and hands-free phone device has been installed into the car’s factory stereo, so bluetooth and hands-free communication is available in this car.
Other Notes
– Car has a factory navigation display that is motorized and rises up and down. The navigation system also has a DVD player for it, as the DVD inside the player is for the navigation system. I’ve never tested if a movie DVD would play, but it would be a fun test!
– Car has a timing chain, rather than a timing belt
– I bought the car with 72K miles in December 2016, so I’ve put roughly 52K on the car since purchasing it.
– Clear bra on headlights needs to be replaced
– Flywheel chatter is somewhat loud, as it was replaced with a lighter flywheel when replaced at Z-Car Garage. I confirmed with my mechanic that this is normal due to its lighter weight.
– Mild oil consumption, as noted. This is very common for the 3.5L Rev Up motor
– The stock wheels have some curb rash and one of the wheels is slightly bent from the previous owner. This hasn’t caused an issue with any of the tires holding air etc, so there was so need to replace it.
– Rear bumper and left rear taillight replaced January 2018 after someone hit me and ran in a grocery store parking lot. Clear wrap on rear bumper also redone at this time
– Minor paint damage on rear bumper from garage door.
– Fuel gauge isn’t accurate, so I’ve been using the odometer to track the mileage til empty. I usually fill the tank after 220-240 miles. The instrument cluster may need to be re-soldered to fix this issue, which I have a contact for if you need it. If not, fuel sending units may need to be cleaned. Lots of info on this on forums, and my mechanic at Z-Car Garage can also help with this too! Fuel averages 18-19 mpg city, highway is much better.
– My mechanic at Z-Car Garage recommended only running the car on premium fuel to prevent pinging. The 3.5L Rev Up motors also commonly have mild pinging from what I’ve read in forums.
– TPMS light comes on a lot, but tire pressure isn’t actually low. Dealership I bought the car from claims they fixed it, but they never seemed to get it to work correctly *shrug* no biggie
– Wheel locks and owner’s manual are in a OEM leather pouch in the trunk
-tiny tear on driver’s side door panel/arm rest on door panel. Hasn’t gotten any worse since I’ve owned it
-Car will come with existing floor mats (not pictured), and I also have a brand new set of tan floormats for it as well that I can include upon sale
