I decided to do some research into parts/mods for the car to bring back that fun factor. The KEY for me was keeping it a daily driver, not breaking your teeth over speed-bumps, being able to take long road trips in the car and have it be very comfortable, yet handle beautifully. It took 2 years and much research (along with much trial and error) to get the car balanced just right. I was going for a very comfortable daily driver/family car and give me that rush I wanted from time to time. In time, I got exactly what I wanted.

NOTE: I just took a road trip to Seattle Washington (from silicon valley, sanjose) and wow was the car VERY comfortable to ride in. You would have never guessed it was a sports car.
What’s the car like? This car is fun like no other. Due to the mods, the engine and transmission have very fast response times and are ready to go when you are. It handles twisty’s with ease, and the car ALWAYS goes where you want it to. It’s VERY predictable. It’s quiet when you want it to be and loud when you get on it past 5K. The response and feedback this car gives you is just indescribable.
What did I use this car for? I drove it 18 miles round trip to work each day, it was a family commuter, and sometimes I would open up a little on twisty roads.
THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN TRACKED. I NEVER wanted to push the car to those limits, (but I always dreamed out doing so..)
What did I do to the car? Here’s a list of parts I put on the car.
1. Twin Injen cold-air intakes
2. Motordyne intake manifold
3. Stillen short tube headers
4. ARTS test pipes
5. Stillen catback exhaust
6. Hotchkis adjustable front and rear swaybars. (set on the softest setting for comfort)
7. Stoptech slotted rotors with stoptech pads and steel braided brakelines.
8. NEW transmission from Infiniti (installed about 50k miles on the Odometer and installed by Infiniti.)
9. NEW sunroof direct from Infiniti (Installed by Infiniti)
10. Removed the G37S logo off the back
11. JWL lightweight flywheel
12. JWL stage 1 racing clutch
13. Re-flashed ECU (UPrev tune)
14. Custom built carbon fiber driveshaft (second person in the country to get one)
15. Replaced the stock CSC (Clutch Slave Cylinder) with a new aluminum one. (the stock plastic one is known to go bad.)
16. Upgraded the front tires to 255/40/19 using Michelin pilot super sports
17. Upgraded the rear tires to 265/35/19 using Michelin pilot super sports
18. Tinted the windows with Sunscreen CXP tint.
ALL parts (aftermarket) were professionally installed by Z-Car garage and most stock parts were kept. (Flywheel was not.) I have detailed receipts for all purchases and replacements.
How did I care for the car? This thing has been my baby for 2 years. I waxed it monthly, clay bar every 6 months, and polished once a year. It was professionally detailed every 4-6 car washes. Oil changes were every 2-3 months and I ONLY use royal purple synthetic. ALL fluids were changed every 6 months. (tranny, radiator, differential, power steering). ALL work or maintenance was done either by my mechanic, Infiniti, or Z-Car garage. Nothing was done myself.
I was very meticulous with the paint on the car. (I even kept baby wipes handy for bird droppings for the paint.)
I DON’T wish to sell this car, but living in an apartment and having no garage means that I have little reason/ability to make this a weekend car. I love this car to death, but as my 4 year old gets older, it’s time to move on to a friendlier family car.
Please contact me if you have questions or if you’re serious about considering the car for purchase.
