SSP Release R35 GT-R 3″ Cat-less Downpipes

Hot off the wire!!  SSP is set up for the immediate release of their new 3″ down pipes.  They have been installed on the ZCG GT-R and are soon to be tested with the rest of the soon-to-be-released SSP GTR820RR kit.  These downpipes remove the annoying and power-robbing pre-cats that are built into the stock R35 downpipes.  Boost will now come on stronger and faster, and lucky for us the parts are made in house at SSP so there is no waiting for the slow boat from Japan!!  Instant gratification is finally here for US customers.

Sioux Falls, South Dakota (January 22, 2009) – South Side Performance is offering, another great new product for the R35 GTR, the SSP RS Turbo Downpipes. This component is another in a line of SSP products that will move power hungry GTR owners towards 820 HP, when paired with our recently released GTR820RR Turbo Kit.

In months of testing different outlets sizes and shapes, the 3 in turbo downpipe design was found to be the most efficient size downpipe that would make big power, and provide your GTR a great throaty sound. These pieces are made with all the precision and care of those from Japan without the Japanese premium price. And, as with nearly all SSP products, the turbo outlets are designed to fit perfectly and install with relative ease.

Specifications:

The SSP RS Turbo Downpipes are 3 inches in diameter and utilize ½ inch flanges for a great look and fit. These pipes will really let the beast out of its cage as they remove the power robbing pre-cats and provide your turbos with some room to breathe. The result of removing these highly restrictive catalytic converters is a deep growl, improved turbo spool, and an overall improvement in the responsiveness in the car throughout the power band.

CANCELLED: GT-R Meet and Canepa Design Tour

We regret to inform all of you that the GT-R meet and drive to the Canepa facility on Saturday, January 24th has been canceled for the time being.  The weather does not look like it is going to cooperate and we would prefer to have everything on our side to host the best event we can.  Sorry for the late change in plans and we hope to see you for the rescheduled event here at Z Car Garage.

R35 GT-R Receives Eibach Pro Kit Springs

We had a new customer with a Gun Metallic GT-R here yesterday morning to install an Eibach Pro Kit spring set.  The kit is stated at lowering the car 0.8″ in the front and 0.5″ in the rear.  This is the first spring kit we have installed that hasn’t included some form of ride height adjustment.

The spring quality from Eibach is top notch as always and the install went very smooth.  The most time consuming part of the entire install is removal of the rear seats and most rear interior to gain access to the upper strut mount.  Once the car was re-assembled, a test drive was in order and we are happy to report that the ride quality is unchanged even with the lower ride height.

The rear of the car will take a little more time to settle but the GT-R looks much nicer and more muscular with this subtle drop.  This is one of the best changes for the money on an already stellar car.  Enjoy the pictures.
