1970 Datsun 240z Race Car for sale
Please see details/pricing information below:
I have a 1970 Datsun 240Z that I have owned since 1999, a very early car, one of the first 2000 in the USA. A few weeks ago, we were testing at Thunderhill and the motor let loose right before Turn 3. The block is gone, E31 head looks good, I have a replacement block and another complete parts motor, plus many other parts. I’m not sure I want to fix it. I have another race car and my wife has suggested I focus my efforts on just one project (the 350Z also pictured…maybe a package deal?)
I would like to sell the Z as it sits right now, but may part out, if necessary. I would entertain the idea of removing the engine and transmission and selling the car as a roller. The interior is mostly gutted, only the dash, headliner, door panels, are intact. The car still has lights, wipers and all glass, but no blinkers or heater. It has a full 6-point roll cage, 17×9 by 8.5 wide Rota wheels with 4 fairly new (DOT Oct. 2012 with 2 track events, full depth) 235/40/17 Nitto NT01’s. The paint is from 1995 or so, and looks decent, no accidents, or repainting. Virtually no rust, a couple of minor spots under the paint, very solid car.
The car is basically track legal only. I do have it registered and insured out of state with a clean title. The car is set up for club racing and HPDEs. I am asking $8500 for it as it sits today, or $7000 as a roller. Lots of spare parts for Datsun 240Z’s that I have collected over the past 14 years will go along with the car. Mechanical, interior, body parts, glass, etc.
Times for local tracks: 2:08-9’s at Thunderhill (no bypass), 1:46-7’s at Laguna Seca, 156:-7’s at Sears Point. Times are with DOT tires.
